Milky popcorn
Right there beside the cinema entrance was the popcorn machine popping out popcorn. All the cinemas I have visited have ‘popcorn corners’ and I once heard someone say nothing beats the smell of freshly-popped popcorn when you're settling in for a movie... whoever christened popcorn as the official snack during movies. Story for another day. I ordered a small pack and went in to watch the movie which was ending in fifteen minutes’ time. One after the other I threw the popcorn into my mouth in the dark cinema hall. It tasted nice but a bit off from norm. Then my fingers felt powdery and eventually sticky. Also my tongue. After the movie, I asked and the attendant with a sparkle in his eyes said ‘’we added powdered milk ma. It makes it yummy and our customers love it’’. Indeed we learn every day. Salt, sugar and butter yes! Recently I learned some people add spices and herbs to popcorn and today it's powdered milk. Tomorrow it could be cheese or chocolate or carrot! Innovation. But tell you what? The tongue gets accustomed to anything after a while so never say never.
