Some years back I joined Women Connected by Purpose (WCBP), little did I know I had hitched a ride with destiny. Great things indeed come from the little steps we take in life. When you stand alone to watch life happen, then Life happens without you.  When you take seemingly little steps, you make life happen!

In most parts of the world, the month of May begins with 'workers day' holiday. There is dignity in labour they say and this is because workers (taxpayers) expectedly contribute to the GDP of every country alongside entrepreneurs’. All things being equal, workers should be able to at least live decently from the remuneration received at work. Growing up, I always wondered what people had to do daily in the office. The same way my six year-old wonders what I am endlessly typing on the computer. In fact, according to her, my work never finishes because ‘I type and erase and type again all over’. Hobbies of Then and Now...

Memoirs Recently I was in a training session where participants were asked their hobbies. Hobbies like Cooking, Photography, Football, Travelling, and Learning were mentioned. This got me thinking about hobbies now and hobbies years ago. Growing up some thirty something years ago in South East Nigeria, I was an adventurous child who tried all sorts from tree climbing to baking, snail hunting, learning the piano, philately, photography, knitting, sewing, drawing, painting, and flower gardening. I had collections - coins and paper money no longer in use, sea shells, Pacesetter novel series, stamps. Today, I have over a thousand stamps in my stamp album (see some few clips below)  and oh my, I lobbied for stamps in secondary school like my very life depended on it. The Wind and the Water

  I live in the South West of Nigeria and right now it appears the North East trade wind is sweeping across again to collect ‘something’ it left behind earlier in the year. Layers of dust. Chapped lips. Harmattan haze. Flight cancellations and diversions. Low humidity. Nose bleeding. Cough. Flu. Wildfires are all aftermaths.    When the wind blows gently and lightly, it has a cooling and soothing effect especially in the country side and beach areas but when strong with violent gusts, it carries anything on its way and cause disaster.
