The Wind and the Water
I live in the South West of Nigeria and right now it appears the North East trade wind is sweeping across again to collect ‘something’ it left behind earlier in the year. Layers of dust. Chapped lips. Harmattan haze. Flight cancellations and diversions. Low humidity. Nose bleeding. Cough. Flu. Wildfires are all aftermaths.
When the wind blows gently and lightly, it has a cooling and soothing effect especially in the country side and beach areas but when strong with violent gusts, it carries anything on its way and cause disaster. My tall, slender, papaya tree succumbed regrettably yesterday at the passing of a not-so-strong wind.
Wind of prosperity. Wind of adversity. Wind of doctrine. Wind of promotion. Wind of revival. Wind of restoration. Wind of deliverance. Wind of recession. Wind all around!
Winds cause waves when they transfer their energy to the water and in a matter of time a storm is stirred as the waves ride majestically on the water foaming and rising intensely to the heavens.
The winds and the waves will come. This is given. Raging and riding upon waters and threatening to swamp you. The stuff you are made of will matter. By the way my six year old checked out the papaya tree root and exclaimed ‘’mom, ants are already eating out the root’’! A closer look revealed that the ‘eating’ started long before the tree gave way to a gentle breeze. The winds and the water will obey God. Make Him your Ally today.
